Peter Brandt’s $8,600 Ether chart hinges on a first break above $5,000

Veteran trader Peter Brandt shared a CME futures chart targeting an $8,600 price for Ether, which depends on ETH first breaking a key $5,000 barrier from its current level around $2,693.

Peter Brandt’s $8,600 Ether chart hinges on a first break above $5,000

Veteran trader Peter Brandt has outlined a long-term price target of $8,600 for Ether, though this projection relies on ETH first clearing the $5,000 barrier.

With the token currently exchanging hands around $2,693, conquering that initial obstacle requires an approximate 86% rally.

CME futures mark the top line at $8,674.50

Brandt shared the chart, derived from CME Ether futures, on X on September 21. While the technical reading sits at $8,674.50, he prefers a rounded target of $8,600.

“It implies an eventual move to 8,600 once 5,000 is handled,” Brandt noted, omitting any specific date or timeframe for the prediction.

Moving from $2,693 to $5,000 demands an increase of roughly 86%, while the complete journey to $8,600 translates to a surge of about 219%.

Immediate price action faces short-term resistance at $3,000. ETH previously bounced from roughly $2,360 earlier in September.

Beyond that lies the crucial $5,000 milestone set by Brandt as the trigger point, with the ultimate $8,600 objective representing a further 72% advance from $5,000.

The same no-trade caveat covered XRP’s $5.40 path

“A claim of a ‘call’ or simple presentation of a chart is NOT a trade,” Brandt stated, emphasizing that anyone claiming an executed trade must supply evidence.

“An X post is NOT proof,” he added.

He issued an identical disclaimer alongside another long-term chart shared on the same day targeting $5.40 for XRP, as noted by Cryptopolitan.

Brandt has worked as a commodities trader since 1976 and established Factor Trading in 1980.

Cryptopolitan also reported that U.S. spot Ether ETFs registered their highest single-day net influx since October 7, 2025, on September 21.

That daily total reached approximately $270 million.
